Brief Summary:
A fantastic trip down one of then most accessible of the Mt Wilson Canyons. This trip involves 5-6 abseils up to 20m in height Hopefully we will rendezvous with the Wollangambe 2 canyoners and make a joint exit Suitable for Senior Scouts, Venturers and rovers with Level 1 abseil experience

Additional Information

All participants must bring with them a day pack containing:

2 litres water

Lunch and snacks.

Rain Shell/Jacket  (NOT a thin Raincoat or poncho!)

Sturdy non-slip shoes  (Dunlop Volleys preferred!). 

**Wetsuit  & Thermal Top**

small floatation device optional (often the dry bag is sufficient.

Swimmers

Sun Hat & Sunscreen

Small first aid kit

Woolen jumper or fleece

10-15 litre Dry Bag or 3 strong plastic bags for waterproofing clothes and food

Camera or “Go-Pro” (waterproofed!)

Spare change of shoes, socks, clothes and a towel 

 

Helmets, hareness and descenders  will be provided for all participants; however you are encouraged to bring your own gear.

 

Note:  The canyon involves long periods in cold deep water where we will be floating down the river. Participants need to be competent swimmers and MUST  have a floatation device to lie upon.
